SACCO Software Migration Checklist
Data migration is an accounting exercise as much as a software task

Read project story ↗The business need
Before moving SACCO records, agree on a migration cut-off date and reconcile member identities, savings balances, loan principal, arrears, guarantor links and repayment histories. Every balance needs a trusted source and an accountable owner.
What Valron considers
Prepare a data dictionary and map historical fields to the new platform. Identify duplicates and missing identity documents; do not silently merge accounts. Freeze or carefully coordinate transactions during cutover, then reconcile opening balances before resuming live posting.
Implementation and operating requirements
Conduct user acceptance testing with administrators, credit teams and finance staff using representative cases: new loan, partial repayment, missed instalment, rescheduling, reversal and statement export. Restrict production permissions and keep a rollback plan.
Evidence and context
The Safi SACCO work and Valron SACCO demo provide relevant context, but this guide is a planning checklist and does not assert any migration has occurred at a specific client without evidence.
We'll review the exact workflows and dependencies before committing to scope, cost or delivery dates. You can start with a short message; there is no need to prepare a formal software specification.
